On behalf of our members across Cumbria we have been contributing to the county wide review of neurological services and led by the Cumbria CCG. It is reviewing which services exist in the county, where the gaps are and how services can be better organised. In October 2015 Alliance members attended a presentation by Tim Evans Associate Director of Operations, Specialist Care Group, Cumbria Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Elspeth Desert Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Clinical Director both of the Cumbria NHS Partnership Foundation Trust.
The presentation included initial feedback from the recent scoping and mapping of services within Cumbria for patients with Neurological difficulties and a presentation of an integrated pathway, based on NICE recommendations. Our members had plenty of comments to make and since then we have attended two further meetings.
Everyone with an interest in neurological conditions is welcome to join us at our March meeting when further feedback will be shared. We shall meet in the Methodist Church Hall, Penrith on Wednesday 9th March at 10.30 am until 1 pm.
Please drop me an email if you intend being present. If you are unable to attend but want to contribute your thoughts do send them to me as it is vital that we get a broad range of comments from as many people as possible
