First Cumbrian Supporter Group Meeting – Brain Tumour Research

Thursday 20 April 2017 at The Roundthorn Country Hotel, Beacon Edge, Penrith CA11 8SJ from 6.15pm – 9.00pm

Light refreshments will be served.

This will be an opportunity for all of our Cumbrian supporters to meet together at one venue, find out about our latest fundraising campaigns, share ideas and personal experiences and discover many things that you didn’t know are happening across the field of brain tumour research. The guest speaker at the event, our Director of Research Dr Kieran Breen, will provide insights into the latest research within our four Centres of Excellence. Our research teams represent the UK’s largest collaboration of laboratory-based experts, investigating adult and paediatric brain tumours as well as high and low grade brain tumours.

There will be opportunities for you to ask any fundraising and/or research questions.

Improving patient experience together

‘We’re excited to be hosting our annual Nurse and AHP Study Day on Friday 19 May, where nurses and allied health professionals working with adults living with a brain tumour can hear from expert speakers on topics central to the care of those affected by brain tumours.’

CPD accredited event, you will get the opportunity to hear about the experience of a high grade and low grade patient and be informed by world-leading experts  about the latest developments in brain tumour treatment and care. There will also be an opportunity to network with colleagues during the day and at the drinks reception at the end.

Please have a look at the current programme for the event with confirmed speakers (attached). We will be sending out a final programme once all speakers are confirmed. The event poster is also attached if you want to have a look and share with colleagues.

Please note, places are limited and there is currently an Early Bird discounted price of £30 per person.

‘Alterline in a Box’ New training resource

The Brain Tumour Charity recently produced an new training resource ‘Alterline in a Box’ which links with the findings from their ‘ Losing Myself: the reality of life with a brain tumour’ report
